2012-2013 Registration Dates

Spring 2013 Registration: Walk-in Only
*To purchase spring parking please stop by our Regents Drive Garage office.*

Summer 2013 Registration: Registration opens Monday, April 1st at 10:00am and must be completed online.

*Students are allowed to park in any student lot during the summer session, Tuesday, May 28th-Friday, August 16th. If students have an annual or a spring permit they do not need to purchase a summer permit.*

    Online Parking Account Management System - NEW

    You can manage all your parking needs through our new upgraded Parking Account Management System. Through this portal you can:

  • View citations
  • Pay citations
  • View status and decision of Reviews
  • Review citations - Including ability to attach three documents (NEW)
  • Add/edit waitlist (NEW)
  • Purchase permits - Option to purchase permits with credit card online (NEW)
  • Manage contact information(NEW)
  • Add or remove vehicle from your registration
  • Guest/Non-affiliate online account info request - Request user ID and Password (NEW)
  • University login (CAS Authentication) - Anyone affiliated with the University can now log in using his or her University account instead of creating a new account (NEW)
  • Click HERE to access Parking Account Management System.

    To add another vehicle to your registration you must go to Manage the Vehicles on your Permit in our Online Parking Management System.

    To cancel your registration and remove all cars from your account please come into our offices at Regents Drive Garage.

    Eligibility

    Students with a class standing of Junior and above are eligible to register for parking. Freshmen and Sophomores are eligible on a space available basis. Students registered to park in Lots 4, 5, 6, 9 and 11 must move their cars for athletic events and other special events.

    All current student parking registrants may use Lot 4 as overflow parking when their own lot is full.

    Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Surcharge

    Students who live in the following apartment complexes will also be charged a Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Surcharge of $211 annually for the commuter registration. This surcharge represents a student developed sustainability initiative to discourage the use of single occupancy vehicles for the commute to the College Park Campus

    These students may also choose to purchase a resident registration. Resident registrants will be assigned to lot 11 and may leave their car in lot 11 overnight. For more information on choosing to bike, carpool or ride the bus, please click here.

    Commuter Student Lot Assignments

    University of Maryland commuting students are assigned to a commuter parking lot based on their class standing and lot availability, except for Lot 5. Please note, when a permit is required, the car cannot be parked over 24 consecutive hours. See the following chart:

    Motorcycles & Scooters

    Motorcycle and Scooters must be registered with DOTS to be parked on campus. Spring/summer registration will be $55 and DOTS certified Motorcycle helmets will be required. For more information about parking rules and regulations, please visit the Motorcycle and Scooter page.

    Bicycles

    Bicycles must be registered with DOTS to be parked on campus. Registration is free. You must bring your bike to the DOTS Regents Drive office to get registered. DOTS supports bicycling with a variety of programs and collaborations under the umbrella name of bikeUMD.     Bundle Pack Permits

    Bundle pack permits are the perfect solution for commuter students who might have only the occasional need to drive a vehicle to campus. Each bundle pack contains 10 one-day parking permits and costs $50. To be eligible for these permits, you must not have a Department of Transportation Services' parking permit. You may purchase a bundle pack at the DOTS Regents bundle imgDrive Garage office.

    Students using these permits may park in lot 4 only. See campus map for area locations.

    Temporary Medical Permits

    If you have a medical condition that requires a different parking arrangement than that to which you have been assigned, you may contact the Health Center. The health center will evaluate your case and recommend a medical accommodation if necessary. This typically results in permission to park in any student lot.

    Bundle Packs

    Bundle pack permits are the perfect solution for commuter students, faculty or staff members who might have only the occasional need to drive a vehicle to campus.
